The project “Improving the living conditions and well-being of people fleeing the Ukrainian crisis in Moldova”, implemented by HEKS/EPER, with the support of Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), was implemented by CDA from 01.09.2023 to 31.12.2023 in Chisinau, Soroca, Causeni, Stefan Voda, Comrat, Basarabeasca, Edinet, Falesti, Floresti, Balti, Glodeni, Telenesti.
In the framework of the project, CDA organized several activities on the theme of prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) against girls, women and their children, with a special focus on refugees with specific needs and those from marginalized groups. CDA also provided information on legal protection mechanisms and referral pathways for individuals when necessary and requested.
To this end, CDA organized 32 information sessions/social cohesion events on GBV as well as on protection mechanisms from human trafficking, with the participation of over 900 refugees and members of local communities in 12 districts of the country.
Approximately 12. 000 displaced persons from Ukraine and local community members received information on GBV and anti-trafficking through e-platforms.
Over a thousand Ukrainian women and girls/local community members in 6 districts of the country were counselled on GBV, trafficking.
CDA also conducted 4 trainings on these topics with the participation of 102 social workers from Basarabeasca, Floresti, Telenesti, Stefan Voda districts.
In the framework of the given project, CDA also produced 7 video spots on the topic of preventing and combating gender-based violence, which were placed on the web pages and Facebook, You Tube of CDA.
Another 100 posters on the theme of preventing and combating gender-based violence were produced and distributed in regional refugee centres, public institutions in the host community.
