What comes after temporary protection? What are the legal options for staying in the Republic of Moldova, and who is eligible for them?
To answer these questions, the Law Center of Advocates (CDA) has developed a guide for beneficiaries of temporary protection, presenting in an accessible format the main legal options for remaining in the Republic of Moldova after the expiration of this status.
The guide provides essential information about the available legal residence options, the eligibility criteria for each of them, and serves as a starting point for people planning their next steps after temporary protection ends.
The publication explains the main available options, including:
- temporary residence for employment;
- residence for digital nomads;
- residence for family reunification;
- temporary residence for studies;
- temporary residence in other cases;
- permanent residence;
- acquisition of Moldovan citizenship by recognition.
For each option, the guide outlines who is eligible, the main requirements, and practical information to help beneficiaries identify the solution that best fits their situation.
This guide was developed by the Law Center of Advocates (CDA) within the framework of the project “Cities and Regions for All (CR4A): Full Integration of Refugees and Migrants in Urban and Rural Areas”, with the financial support of the European Union, contracted by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) through the Migration Partnership Facility (MPF).
The contents of this publication are the sole responsibility of the Law Center of Advocates and do not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union.
The project is implemented by the Prague 5 Municipal District and People in Need. The guide is available on the CDA website: https://cda.md/publication/ghid-practic-pentru-beneficiarii-de-protectie-temporara-optiuni-de-legalizare-a-sederii-in-republica-moldova-dupa-expirarea-protectiei-temporare/
