2024 was a year of challenges, but also of successes that strengthened our position as a reliable and credible non-governmental organization, both for beneficiaries and partners.
We continued to support refugees and displaced persons from Ukraine, providing legal assistance and helping them solve important problems related to their stay and integration in the Republic of Moldova.
Over 24,300 unique beneficiaries were counseled and legally assisted, including approximately 4000 children and caregivers. CDA lawyers have provided over 37,000 legal counsels.
We were closer than ever to Roma displaced people from Ukraine. Working with community mediators has enabled us to provide them with tailored and effective support.
Last year, we managed to provide concrete help to over 1250 beneficiaries with special needs or coming from vulnerable categories.
We also litigated 12 cases, to ensure the beneficiaries, the necessary assistance and access to rights.
We have provided legal assistance to 15 people in issues related to the protection of gender-based violence and have informed 38 beneficiaries about protection measures, prevention, risk mitigation and response to gender-based violence.
Also in 2024, we joined the Global Alliance for the Eradication of Statelessness and legally assisted 57 people to acquire the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova and another 62 – at risk of statelessness or with stateless status.
The CDA team has actively participated in several activities organized by the association’s partners: the Human Rights Caravan; Human Rights and Equality Forum and Festival 2024; Campaigns against gender-based violence and human trafficking. We celebrated World Refugee Day with a suite of activities, including a mini-football competition.
We joined the National Campaign for the Expansion of Green Spaces, laying the foundation of a new forest around the village of Logănești, Hâncești.
At the beginning of the year, CDA was awarded at the “Trusted Partners of Justice – 2024” Gala. But the most valuable appreciation was the gratitude expressed by those we helped.
