258 children, including displaced from Ukraine, took part in the essay competition “United for Ukraine. Integration of refugees in the local communities”, organized by CDA in the framework of the CDA-Oxfam project “Decentralized support for Ukrainian refugees”.
The members of the committee for the evaluation of the essays selected 48 best essays, whose authors are awarded with valuable gifts: 11 students who took first place will receive a smartphone, 11 children, who placed second – a smart watch. Another 16 participants who won third place will get a portable box. Another 10 essays were also judged, and special prizes were awarded.
The essay contest was launched by CDA for students of grades VII-IX from secondary schools in the districts of Causeni, Stefan-Voda, Basarabeasca, Cahul, Ungheni, Soroca, Comrat, Orhei, Anenii Noi, Balti municipality.
The contest aimed to raise awareness among children and young people from the districts where the project is implemented about the problems faced by refugees from Ukraine, the importance of respecting their rights, active involvement in social cohesion activities that would help them integrate into local communities.
