Law Centre of Advocates (CDA) counsellors carried out several activities to inform refugees from Ukraine about gender-based violence, how to act and where to turn for help if they are subjects or witness to acts of violence (physical, emotional, financial).
They distributed information materials in Russian – the booklet “What do you need to know about gender-based violence?” and “Guide to what to do in case of gender-based violence” – in Balti, Cahul, Causeni and Stefan Voda. The materials contain useful information about the specialists they should ask for support and the contact details of institutions and NGOs that can provide help or how to apply for legal aid.
In addition, residents and local authorities in the host communities were informed about how to get involved and provide proper support to victims of gender-based violence, especially girls and women.
The information materials were developed by the Women’s Law Centre with support from UNDP and Sweden.
The activities were carried out in the framework of the global campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence”, with the support of the project “Enhancing Access to Justice for Living in Dignity”, implemented by UNDP Moldova, with the financial support of Germany
