A Memorandum of Understanding reflecting the joint commitment of the CDA and GIM to implement the temporary protection mechanism in the Republic of Moldova and to successfully carry out the integration activities of foreigners was signed on 6 March 2023 by the Director of the General Inspectorate for Migration, Mihail Voda, and the Executive Director of CDA, Oleg Palii.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to establish a support mechanism by attracting additional staff to the regional integration centres for foreigners and foreigners’ registration offices of the GIM.
At the same time, the parties will ensure the process of informing, advising, and facilitating access to protection measures in terms of respect for the rights of foreigners, in particular beneficiaries of temporary protection.
The joint actions to be carried out will also aim at ensuring the achievement of legal status and promoting an inclusive society.
Oleg Palii and Mihail Vodă also discussed the action plan on granting temporary protection to displaced persons from Ukraine and the actors that will be involved in its implementation.
The General Inspectorate for Migration appreciated the support of Moldovan non-governmental organizations, including CDA, which are actively involved in the management of migration flows.
