The support provided by the Law Centre of Advocates in the process of extending temporary protection has been essential for people displaced from Ukraine. This is reflected both in the number of beneficiaries assisted and in the diversity of interventions carried out by legal advisors.
Between February 1 and April 30, 2026, over 7170 displaced persons from Ukraine received legal assistance and practical support from CDA for extending temporary protection.
The support provided included:
• individual legal counselling on eligibility conditions, as well as beneficiaries’ rights and obligations;
• step-by-step guidance in the application process for extension;
• practical assistance in completing and submitting online applications via the General Inspectorate for Migration (IGM) platform;
• support in scheduling biometric data collection, where necessary (including for children who have turned 14);
• clarification of deadlines for submitting and reviewing applications.
At the same time, CDA conducted 20 information sessions in different regions of the country, including in accommodation centres and local communities, contributing to increasing beneficiaries’ awareness of the procedure for extending temporary protection.
These sessions were interactive and practical, offering participants the opportunity to ask questions, receive answers tailored to their situation, and, in many cases, receive direct assistance in submitting applications.
Through these interventions, CDA contributed to facilitating access to administrative procedures; preventing difficulties in the extension process; and ensuring the continuity of legal protection for people displaced from Ukraine.
