On January 28, 2026, the Government of the Republic of Moldova decided to extend temporary protection for displaced persons from Ukraine until March 1, 2027.
To maintain this status, it is necessary to submit an application for extension, as the procedure is not carried out automatically.
The application must be submitted electronically via the platform protectietemporara.gov.md, during the period February 1 – April 30, 2026. The procedure is free of charge and is carried out entirely online. During the submission and examination of the application, temporary protection status remains valid for all beneficiaries.
The validity of the identity document of the temporary protection beneficiary will be extended automatically.
In the case of children who have reached the age of 14, biometric data will be collected in accordance with the procedures in force. Failure to submit the application within the established deadline will result in the automatic termination of temporary protection status.
