The event was organised by the Ministry of Justice and took place on World NGO Day.
Ministry of Justice appreciated the civic activism and contribution of nine NGOs to justice sector reforms, awarding prizes to those who “support it, either through policies and expertise or through projects implemented with the aim of facilitating people’s access to justice and ensuring respect for human rights”.
CDA was nominated for an award in the category of NGOs implementing projects to ensure access to justice and respect for human rights.
Presenting CDA award, Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru praised the fact that “during the refugee crisis, CDA lawyers were on the front line at border crossings, monitoring respect for the rights of foreigners and providing legal and humanitarian assistance”.
It was also mentioned that “over the past year the association has implemented several projects aimed at increasing access to justice for different categories of citizens, especially those at risk”.
