Is coming to end the project “Improve the living conditions and well-being of people fleeing the Ukrainian crisis in Moldova”, implemented by HEKS/EPER in partnership with CDA, with the support of Norwegian Church Aid (NCA).
The summaries of the activities carried out in the framework of the project were made at the event held on 21 December with the participation of representatives of HEKS/EPER Moldova, CDA partners from the districts – public institutions and NGOs involved in the implementation of the project and lawyers from the Centrul de Drept al Avocaților.
At the meeting, participants of the project implementation from CDA, legal advisors Olga Ojog, Viorica Chirnicinii, Svetlana Olari, Tatiana Vicol, Victor Rusu shared their experience of conducting information sessions, individual and group counselling for refugees and those from local communities on protection mechanisms from gender-based violence (GBV), human trafficking.
The CDA Director, Oleg Palii, mentioned that the project was targeted not only at refugees, but also included information and awareness-raising activities on GBV for members of the host communities, increasing the skills of local public authority representatives to intervene effectively in cases of gender-based violence, and legal counselling for beneficiaries.
CDA partners from Ungheni and Basarabeasca districts appreciated the usefulness and impact of the training sessions organized by CDA within the project for social workers, as well as the importance of the information sessions on GBV.
The representative of HEKS/EPER Moldova, Natalia Hadei, congratulated the CDA team for the results achieved and praised the collaboration with the Centrul de Drept al Avocaților as effective.
The project coordinator at CDA, Aurelia Bagrin, highlighted the most important results of the implementation of the project “Improving the living conditions and welfare of people fleeing the Ukrainian crisis in Moldova”:
– 32 information sessions/social cohesion events with the participation of more than 900 refugees and members of local communities from 12 districts of the country.
– Approximately 12,000 displaced persons from Ukraine and local community members received information on GBV and anti-trafficking through e-platforms.
– 4 trainings on “Gender-based violence. Awareness and response” with the participation of 102 social workers from Basarabeasca, Floresti, Telenesti, Stefan Voda districts.
– More than a thousand Ukrainian women and girls/members of local communities from 6 districts of the country, counselled on gender-based violence, human trafficking.
– 7 video spots on the theme of preventing and combating gender-based violence, produced and placed on CDA’s web and Facebook pages, You Tube. – 100 posters on preventing and combating gender-based violence, produced and distributed in regional refugee centres, public institutions in the host community.
