The Association has developed and distributed in several localities of the country a poster and a leaflet on the theme of preventing and combating gender-based violence. In the last three months, CDA lawyers have held 18 information sessions on this topic, with the participation of refugees, pupils and representatives of local communities.
CDA has also developed 7 video spots to be distributed as part of the campaign. They include information on the types of gender-based violence, possible perpetrators and the people most likely to become victims of gender-based violence, the national and international framework on gender-based violence, prevention and protection measures, institutions, organisations that victims of gender-based violence can aply to, their risks of being trafficked and what to know about measures to prevent human trafficking.
The spots were produced in the framework of the project “Improve the living conditions and well-being of people fleeing the Ukrainian crisis in Moldova”, implemented by HEKS/EPER in partnership with CDA, with the support of Norwegian Church Aid (NCA).
Also under this project, four trainings for social workers in several districts on prevention of gender-based violence and protection of its victims will be organized.
At the training session held in Floresti district, human rights expert Anatolie Munteanu spoke to the audience about types of gender-based violence, forms of violence and the cycle of violence, the role of professionals from central and territorial social assistance structures in solving cases of domestic violence, intersectoral cooperation.
The training was attended by 21 social and community workers and two representatives of the Probation Office of Floresti district.
In 2023, the theme of “16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence” campaign is “Invest to prevent violence against women and girls”. It will focus on the importance of funding different strategies to prevent and combat violence, in order to stimulate collective efforts to prevent violence against women. CDA lawyers say NO to gender-based violence! They are speaking out with a call to invest in preventing violence against women and girls!
