The efforts of the CDA counsellor in Balti, Diana Strechii, were successful – a displaced family from Ukraine reached their relatives in Spain.
Initially, the family turned to the CDA’s legal adviser to find accommodation, later they asked for assistance with perfecting documents and transfer to Spain.
With the support of Diana Strechii the family was sheltered at the “Meridian” placement centre in Balti.
It took a few months for the paperwork to be completed and, after several attempts, the application for the AirLift Programme to be accepted, the family arrived at their long-awaited destination – Spain and thanked our colleague for her support.
With the contribution of the CDA legal advisor Irina Vrancean, other, second couple from Ukraine registered their marriage in the Republic of Moldova.
They applied to the Public Services Agency, but their application was refused. Irina Vrancean managed to get the case resolved positively.
A few months ago, in a similar case, she and other lawyers from CDA managed to obtain the necessary documents from the bride and groom’s home countries to submit them to the ASP and to perform their marriage ceremony last September.
