The Soros Foundation-Moldova is a non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization, which was established in 1992 by the financier and the philanthropist George Soros to promote the development of an open society in Moldova by developing and implementing a range of programs and activities that address specific areas of needs including media, justice and human rights, good governance, and public health.
Currently, the Soros Foundation-Moldova provides financial support for the implementation of a CDA project “Emergency Legal Aid for Refugees in Ukraine”. Within this project, СDA, with the support of the SOROS Moldova Foundation, hired 5 operators, who work at the Call Center of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum. They receive hundreds of phones calls every day and answer to different types of questions, such as the procedure for crossing the border, obtaining a residence permit, financial aid, employment, etc.The project also stipulates that CDA provides expertise and support for the Bureau of Migration and Asylum team.
