The partnerships established with social assistance directorates in several districts of the country for the purpose of providing legal counsel to refugees are the proof of the appreciation of the work and credibility of the organization.
Last week the CDA’s executive director, Oleg Palii, signed cooperation agreements with the Social Assistance and Family Protection Directorate in Cimislia and the Social Assistance and Family Protection Directorate in Leova.
According to the cooperation agreements, the parties will support each other in carrying out activities to promote and contribute to the respect for the rights of refugees, beneficiaries of international protection, applicants for statelessness and stateless persons, as well as foreigners undergoing integration procedures in the Republic of Moldova.
Previously, CDA signed cooperation agreements with similar directorates in Chisinau, Causeni and Stefan Voda. Partnerships have also been established with public libraries in Causeni and Stefan Voda, which have already hosted events for refugees from Ukraine to support their integration process in local communities. At the same time, the Ștefan Vodă City Public Library has provided CDA lawyers with premises for legal counselling of beneficiaries.
Interest in establishing cooperation with CDA was also shown by the Drochia Social Assistance Directorate, which offered the CDA legal adviser Tatiana Vicol a hearing room for legal assistance to refugees and persons settled in the district.
The mayor of Stăuceni commune in Chisinau municipality also expressed his willingness to facilitate communication with refugees for another CDA counsellor – Veronica Stețco: our colleague will have available meeting rooms for information sessions or meetings with refugees.
