On  April 19, 2012 Republic of  Moldova gained access to both Conventions on statelessness- 1954 Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons and the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness , and on 18 July 2012 they both will enter in force for R. Moldova.

CHISINAU (Republic of Moldova) / 2 March 2012 - The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) has protested to the government of the Republic of Moldova and called for an investigation in regard to apparent lapses in the proper implementation of the 1951 Refugee Convention and national laws relating to asylum.

On 12 August, in Accommodation Center for Asylum Seekers, was held a seminar for the police staff from Bureau for Migration and Asylum entitled: „ASYLUM: ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS”

On 10 August, a seminar for the lawyers, entitled „ENSURING THE RIGHT OF DEFENSE OF THE SUSPECT, ACCUSED AND SENTENCED IN CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS - ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS” was held at the premises of the first instance court of Botanica District

       On 5 May, a round table, entitled "Ensuring the right of defense of the suspect, accused and convicted in criminal proceedings - problems and solutions" was heldat the premises of the first instance court of Botanica District.

     On December, 10, at the Free International University of Moldova (ULIM) took place the international scientific conference “Forms and methods of harmonization of the legal background in the asylum and refugees domain in between the Republic of Moldova and the standards of  European Union”

    On August 6, 2010, within the Law Center of Advocates, takes place in two successive sessions (from 9.00-13.00 and from 14.00-18.00), the seminar "Preventive Detention in terms of national legislation and the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.  Application of art. 5 and 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in national practice"
